Donna Shukys is a dedicated advocate and professional committed to supporting individuals and families navigating the challenges of dementia. As a Certified Peer Specialist in mental health and addictions, she combines this expertise with empathy to provide holistic, person-centered support.

As the owner of Renaissance Lifestyles, Donna specializes in Senior Concierge services, downsizing, respite and lifestyle management, helping seniors and families transition through life’s changes with dignity. Trained in the Best Friends™ approach to dementia care, she offers personalized, relationship-centered support, client-directed home care, and respite services for caregivers.

A former Director on the National Board of Professional Organizers in Canada, Donna brings extensive leadership experience and thrives in collaborative efforts that make a meaningful impact.

Donna is also a passionate community volunteer, serving as a Dementia Network Calgary Conversation Café Ambassador and supporting dog rescue initiatives. Her dedication to advocacy and connection shines through in every aspect of her work and life.

I was beginning to feel limited by my physical abilities and wanted stay in my home but I knew I needed some help. I sure wasn’t ready for a long-term care facility, that’s for sure. I needed someone to rely on when I needed them and to manage some projects when they came up. Renaissance Lifestyles visits me once a week. They are so helpful and friendly. They make my lunch, do my laundry, change my bed linens, and pick up medications. They also helped me to purge and organize my three closets full of clothes. I like it when Bailey comes for a few hours. She even has her own water bowl. Thank you Renaissance Lifestyles for providing me with such great support so I can be where I want to be.

I have used Donna’s services in the past! I was completely overwhelmed with all the work ahead of me. My basement had to be taken apart quickly for an unscheduled repair, so things were packed up and moved without any organization. I am also a bit of a ‘control’ person, so it was very hard for me to have someone coming in to ‘organize’. Donna was very patient and offered suggestions without being pushy, demanding or forceful. My basement now looks like a fun, usable space with everything labelled, accessible and easy to find! Thank you for your help getting me started!

Thank you for the fantastic work you recently completed on my mother’s home in Calgary SW. Clearing out a home can be a very daunting task. But having to organize, itemize and dispose of items with strong sentimental value can be impossible. Having to project manage the tear down of the main floor, hiring of tradespeople and completing a renovation, would have been impossible for me living 3500 kms away in Toronto.
